The survey, managed by the UK Cabinet Office, was carried out in October 2011 and saw 299,410 staff take part.  Of OSCR's 56 employees, 64% took part in the survey with OSCR achieving an overall engagement score of 70%.

Chief Executive David Robb welcomed the report and said that it would inform the Regulator's ongoing programme of staff engagement.

'Good service is delivered by skilled and well-motivated and managed staff.  My experience so far is that people enjoy their work here and these results back that up. Positive staff engagement helps achieve improvements in efficiency and productivity,' he said.

'This is the third year we have participated, along with Scottish Government and other agencies.  The results provide a useful comparison with our previous scores and with the Civil Service overall and we will use them to further improve our operations so that charities and others users benefit.'

The report shows that OSCR achieved positive scores in a number of key areas, such as Leadership and Managing Change, My Work and My Team.

All organisations taking part are publishing individual results individually.  Combined results for the whole Civil Service will be published on 1 February 2012.
